October 2008 PDC

The 2008 residential PDC will run from Saturday 11th until Saturday the 25th of October.

Our ever popular Central Victorian PDC is back!

This PDC includes a range of exciting fieldtrips (see pictures at left) including David Holmgren & Su Dennet’s place "Melliodora”, Cydonia Permaculture’s "Tukkadjungul". and David Arnold's "Murrnong" in Violet Town.

As usual we have an excellent range of experienced and enthusiastic tutors teaching the full PDC curriculum. For many participants, a highlight of this PDC is the sessions with David Holmgren, the cooriginator of the permaculture concept.

There is more information on our fieldtrips and tutors see our fieldtrips and tutors pages.

We are pleased to announce that we have a new venue for our PDC this year: the comfortable and beautiful community space "Commonground", near Seymour. This venue in itself is an experience - a quirky, rambling Mudbrick building with excellent facilities. For more information on this venue see common-ground.org.au. We will also be traveling over to Hepburn for a couple of nights.

Subjects include:
Permaculture Ethics & Principles, Landscapes & Climates, Reading the Landscape, Ecology, Pattens, Soils, Water, Design strategies, Earthworks, Large & Small Scale Food Growing Strategies, Economic & Social Permaculture, Client Consultation, Weed Ecologies, Forestry, Aquaculture, Housing Design, Personal and Household Strategies.

Costs:
The cost for this PDC will be $1600 or $1100 concession. As this price includes quality accommodation and meals, as well as all the learning experiences, we believe that it represents excellent value for money. It is possible to pay for this course in installments, so please contact us if this option could help you.

Accredited Permaculture Training:
Another possibility is to enrol in a Certificate III course with the PDC embedded. This means that you will be enrolling in and paying for a Nationally Accredited course, something which may be more acceptable for workplace training or government programmes. For more on our Certificate III programme please visit our Certificate III page. For more general information on our Accredited Permaculture Training courses please see our APT page.
