For more information on permaculture, have a look at some of these sites:

Permaculture International is the peak body for permaculture in Australia: www.permacultureinternational.org  Joining their list-serve, Permaculture-Oceania, is a great way to keep in touch with what is happening in the permaculture world, and gives you an opportunity to ask questions and share information with the wider permaculture community. This is also the place for further information on Accredited Permaculture TrainingTM

Permaculture Melbourne is a good point of call, and not just for those in Victoria. Check out their website: www.permaculturemelbourne.org.au

David Holmgren, one of the founders of permaculture, has a wonderful site jam-packed with information - definitely worth the browse. www.holmgren.com.au

For more information on community gardens:

The Australian City Farms & Community Gardens  Network is a great place to start. This site has many links as well as downloadable copies of Community Harvest, a community gardens newsletter. www.communitygarden.org.au

Other permaculture training providers:

If the courses that Cydonia Permaculture are running do not suit you, or you are looking for something closer to home, we can recommend the following people and groups. All of these are personally known to us as dedicated permaculturists and experienced tutors.

David Holmgren is also involved in many other courses in Australia and overseas. There are also regular tours of 'Melliodora' when he and Su are in Australia.www.holmgren.com.au

John Champagne of Brogo Permaculture is based in the Bega Valley, S.E. NSW, and runs seasonal PDCs and Introduction to Permaculture courses:  www.permaculturedesign.com.au

Robin Francis is one of Australia's most accomplished and experienced permaculture trainers. She and her team are delivering short courses, PDCs and Accredited Permaculture Training (Cert III, IV and Diploma) in Northern NSW:  www.permaculture.com.au

At the Permaforest Trust, Tim Winton and his team are also delivering a very dynamic Accredited Permaculture Training programme at Byron Bay, Northern NSW: www.permaforesttrust.org.au

Southern Cross Permaculture Institute runs PDCs and other courses. Naomi and Rick Coleman have extensive experience in permaculture design, education and living, both in Australia and overseas. They are based on their permaculture demonstration site in Gippsland, Victoria.  www.southerncrosspermaculture.com.au

At the Brookman's Food Forest, based near Adelaide S.A., PDCs and short courses are offered. It is also a wonderful example of a working permaculture farm: foodforest.com.au

Of course there are plenty of other great permaculturists running courses who we do not know. To track them down try any of the sites listed in the first section above...
